At Spoonstruck we're passionate about crafting delicious, natural ice creams and vegan plant-based “frozerts®” as well as other scrumptious food and drink to go with them. We believe in the power of simple, quality ingredients sourced with care and crafted in small batches to bring our fans the artisanal products they’ve come to expect.

Based in Cambridgeshire we make almost everything from scratch, aiming to use natural, local, and responsibly-sourced ingredients where possible. Say goodbye to overly sweet, air filled products or those laden with cheap artificial additives. Our ice creams and plant-based frozerts are dense and creamy ranging from classic favourites to those globally inspired for something a little bit different.

Whatever you choose, your tongue won’t need to go on a “search and find” mission to find flavour in our desserts.

So come on over and get Spoonstruck with us.

What we sell

Simply, we sell ice-cream and plant-based frozerts scooped into one of our waffle cones or biocompostable cups.

We also other frozen dessert offerings with our own toppings, including hot fudge sauce as well as baked goods and luxury dairy or vegan hot chocolate.

Our Frozen Dessert Flavours

Classics

Our timeless and familiar flavours including OMG Chocolate and Mad Vanilla are available regularly for your delight.

Seasonal

Some of these are more typical when their ingredients are at their best in the UK like delicious fresh strawberry. Others are to appeal to seasonal tastebuds; think autumnal nut flavours or winter eggnog or peppermint candy.

Out of the Scoop

More adventurous flavours like Crickets or Black Pepper. Some of these are inspired by fans’ suggestions and votes from our Frequent Scoopers. Do let us know if there’s one you love or a new combination you want to try!

Our Brand

High Quality

Our artisanal approach means each batch is handcrafted for maximum density, smoothness, and richness.

By making our own inclusions like caramel, chocolate chunks, and lemon curd we know that what’s going in them is suitable for our ice creams. Quality in = quality out.

Environmentally Conscious

We care about the impact we have on our environment.

We’re not perfect, but we aim to provide great products while striving to make our processes less wasteful and more sustainable. We source local ingredients where possible, purchase energy from renewable energy producers, and have always used cups, containers, and spoons that are biocompostable – and that includes being edible!

Socially Aware

Similarly to our environmental consideration we care about our supply chains and social impact.

We try to source ingredients responsibly and fairly take into account where they come from and how they’re made.

Community Building

We want to give back to the people who help make Spoonstruck great including our loyal fans, new friends, and valued team. We’re always happy to receive new ideas for flavours or customer rewards and to answer any questions. And in time we are looking to develop a community donation programme.

FAQs

  • We aim to use all natural flavourings from the ingredients themselves. But for two flavours – candy floss and bubble gum – we use artificial flavourings. Why? Because although we’ve mastered making many flavours from their natural ingredients, we haven’t done so yet with those two. We don’t produce them very often, but when we do we let fans know they’re made with artificial flavourings.

  • The exact recipes are proprietary, but we can say that in addition to lots of fresh cream and milk, sugar, and eggs, our ice creams contain wholesome fruits, chocolate, roasted nuts, and, yes, air (although not a lot). Precisely what will depend on the flavour. Similarly, our baked goods use natural ingredients, no stupid stuff - nothing that our team wouldn’t eat ourselves. Our vegan Frozerts® are just that – no dairy, no eggs, rich and creamy without the dairy cream in our ice creams.

  • We have a variety of vegan offerings we call Frozert® and this is growing all the time. We aim always to have several flavours on scoop at all times together with our traditional ice cream flavours. We also offer vegan waffle cones.

  • What allergy? Some of us are allergic to paperwork, others hard work, and still others don’t do well in the mornings. But involving edibles, please know that all of our products are made where we handle dairy, nuts, peanuts, wheat, soy, and egg. We take precautions to keep our allergens separate from one another and from our other ingredients, but if you have an intolerance or a life-threatening allergy, please take precaution when eating our products. If in any doubt, please see the allergen/intolerance guidance sheet posted in the Shop. Best to err on the cautious side and ask our scooper as well. And please avoid the obvious: our butter pecan has pecans in it, maple walnut walnuts, peanut butter peanuts and so on. Seriously. Real ingredients, not flavourings.

  • There’s no gluten in any of our frozen desserts except in flavours that obviously contain it such as Oreos ‘n cream, chocolate chip cookie dough, ooey gooey butter cake, and so on. Most of our baked goods contain gluten, but some are gluten-free and vegan. If in doubt, best to ask in the Shop and read the signage/labelling. We offer GF waffle cones so just ask for one if you need it!

  • We pasteurise all our ice creams. The sorbets and vegan frozen desserts generally aren’t pasteurised although sometimes we’ll incorporate other ingredients that for health and safety reasons we pasteurise.

  • Please email it to us together with your contact information. We may ask why you chose that particular flavour and why you think it’ll be popular or, if it contains esoteric ingredients, where one can obtain them. We can test it in our development lab and possibly ask our taste tester group to put it to their tests. If we end up producing it for scooping and it’s well received, we’ll send you a gift card for you and your friends and family to enjoy a bunch of it and other products from our Cambridge shop. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!

  • No. Everything is and always has been biocompostable. Obviously, our handmade waffle cones are. And if a fan would rather not have one of our cones, we scoop into bagasse pots, which are a byproduct of sugar cane and sugar beet processing, and serve them with a wooden, not plastic, spoon/spade. All biocompostable. Our sampling spoons are metal and reused. We’ve never used PLA or plastic spoons or containers.

  • Other than the obvious ones containing liquor, some of the natural flavourings we use contain alcohol, which is used for its solvent or extractive properties. For example vanilla extract is required by some jurisdictions to be made with an alcohol and water extraction of vanilla beans. In the end, the flavourings result in the finished product in trace amounts. Still, you may not want any alcohol so it’s best to ask your scooper.

  • We’re developing a line of plant based frozen desserts aiming to have a rich, smooth, and dense mouthfeel with flavours that pop. “Vegan frozen desserts” can be a mouthful so we shortened the title and trademarked it. Same good product, but with a name different from the rest of the crowd.

  • Yes, we make almost everything from scratch to bring you the indulgent products you know as a fan or are interested in trying as a reader of this FAQ. We have a small fleet of machines we run to keep up with the demand.

  • First step is to contact us with your CV and explain why you think you’d like to work with us and why you’d be a good fit. There may not be an opening now, but we can keep your contact info & submission on file (really!). Warning though: Please don’t waste our time or yours if you’re allergic to hard work, being honest, or being a genuinely pleasant and caring person.

By enrolling or participating in the Programme, you agree to these Terms and Spoonstruck’s Privacy Policy.

+ To join you must be an individual at least 18 years old. If you’re other than this – perhaps a business, sports group, or organisation – we may be able to accommodate. Please contact us.

+ Membership is limited to one account per person and specific to that individual. It may not be shared, transferred, or sold.

ENROLLMENT

+ You can enroll at the Shop by indicating you want to enroll and providing certain personal information. Acceptance and continuation in the Programme is contingent upon your/the Member’s providing valid and accurate personal information when enrolling and updating such if circumstances change. Once enrolled it’s your responsibility to retain your access code (provided when you enroll) to update your information and track your points. We shall not be responsible for malfunctions because your contact information isn’t up to date.

+ To get you off to more scooping, we’ll credit your membership account with 10 loyalty points just for joining!

EARNING POINTS

+ Members earn 10 points for each £1 spent on Qualifying Items in our King’s Parade shop. If your purchase is for an amount that contains a decimal other than “.5”, the points earned will be rounded down to the nearest point.

+ A “Qualifying Item” to earn points costs at least £1 and is not on offer, purchased via a third party, or a non-food/non-drink item such as gift cards, merchandise, catering, or a hot chocolate gift box. If you purchase a bundle of food/drink and non-food/non-drink items, Spoonstruck may, but shall not be obligated to, offer points on the food/drink item.

+ From time to time we may award you bonus points for your purchase of a particular item or within a specified day or time period.

REDEEMING POINTS - THE EXTRA FUN PART

Members in good standing can redeem points after your enrollment date subject to several conditions:

+ You must have at least 50 points in your account prior to your first redemption on a Qualifying Item.

+ Points can be redeemed at the rate of 10 points for each £1 item price.

+ The minimum redemption is for £1 even if the item you want sells for less. There are no fractional points so items priced with a decimal point may be rounded up to the nearest £ for point redemption purposes.

+ In the very unlikely instance that you return an item for which you received points we may reverse the points you earned on that item purchased.

+ We may send you a cone-gratulatory surprise on your birthday that costs you no points and is good for use during your birthday month in the year sent. Your contact information must be up to date. Birthday information may not be updated after enrollment.

EXPIRATION & FORFEITURE – AVOIDING MEMBERSHIP MELTDOWN

+ Memberships will become dormant after six (6) months of inactivity.

+ We may contact you to remind you that your Membership is inactive (melting) and allow you time to make it active again. If, after a further reasonable period at our sole discretion, there’s still no activity we’ll terminate your Membership. Any points accumulated on your Membership will be forfeited.

FRAUD

+ If we, in our sole discretion, deem you’ve violated the letter or spirit of these Terms, we may terminate your Membership, thus voiding any points accumulated.

+ We may, at our sole discretion, suspend, cancel, or combine memberships that appear to be duplicative.

TERMINATION and CHANGES

+ We need to be able to adapt to unforeseen challenges. To this end, we reserve the right to make changes to or discontinue the Programme in whole or in part at any time.

+ We’ll aim to inform you of these changes with reasonable notice and via the contact method and phone number or email address we have on file for you.

+ Your participation in the Programme subsequent to a change shall constitute your full acceptance of and agreement to be legally bound by these Terms, as amended.

+ If you don’t agree to these Programme Terms, you must stop participating in the Programme.

+ Should the Programme be terminated, these Terms also shall be terminated. Your points shall expire concurrently with the termination of the Programme unless we, in our sole discretion and without obligation, extend the points’ expiration date beyond the Programme’s termination date.

OPTING OUT

+ Members can opt out of the Programme at any time.

+ If you opt out you’ll no longer earn points or be able to redeem points and you’ll forfeit your points accumulated.

+ There are several ways to cancel your Membership:

• contact us via our Contact Us form on our website spoonstruck.co.uk

• let us in the Shop know that you want to opt out, or

• let it lapse after a period of inactivity and don’t respond to our communication(s) to you about keeping your Membership active.

DATA PRIVACY

By accessing and otherwise participating in the Programme, you agree that we may collect, use, and disclose your personal information/data to administer the Programme, communicate with you about the Programme, and otherwise use your personal information with your consent or at your direction as set out in our Privacy Policy.

ARBITRATION, EXCLUSIVE REMEDY, LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

• any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with the Programme shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class or representative action;

• under no circumstances will you be permitted to seek recovery for, and you hereby waive any and all rights to claim or seek recovery of, punitive, incidental, and/or consequential damages other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses.

+ The validity or unenforceability of any provision of these Terms shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable, these Terms shall otherwise remain in effect and shall be construed in accordance with the Terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein.
